World Police & Fire Games 2013

The World Police and Fire Games 2013 is coming to Belfast this August and dragon boating is one of the 57 sports. The dragon boat competition will be held between 2nd – 4th August 2013 on the River Lagan behind the Waterfront Hall at Lanyon Place, Belfast and will include 10 man and 20 man racing categories.

The Games hopes to attract over 25,000 visitors to Ireland, including 10,000 competitors from around 70 countries. As well as raising the international profile of Ireland, it hopes to boost the economy and leave a lasting legacy.

IDBF Foundation and Participation Coach Course

We still have a few places available for the IDBF Foundation and Participation Coach Course on 16th February 2013. Email to reserve a place.

This course is designed for those wanting to take the next step in their coaching qualifications following the Basic Helm Award.

The Foundation Coach Award is for those wishing to take and supervise young people in basic dragon boat activities in a controlled environment, for example an outdoor activities centre or to teach a crew the skills necessary to participate in informal competition.

The Participation Coach Award specifically aims to develop participation coaching skills and the idea of performance coaching in those holding the Foundation Coach Award or in the committed and experienced dragon boat enthusiast.
