Dragon Speed Fest - Saturday, 12th September 2026 Each crew will race 2 x 200m & the times will be added together. The three crews with the fastest aggregate times in each category will go to their competition class Major Final to determine positions 1 - 3. The remaining crews will be placed according to their aggregate times.Each crew will then race a time trial over 100m. Their final position will be decided by their overall placing in the competition class.

As most of you have heard by now we have had to move the Lough Rinn DBR to Carlow due to the water levels being too shallow on Lough Rinn. I know not ideal, but we still wanted to run a regatta for everyone.We now welcome you all to Carlow on Saturday, 12th September 2026 for the Dragon Speed Fest! Racing will be over 200m + 100m. Come prepared for fast & furious racing like you have never seen before.
Emerald Dragons, a team of young Kerala dragon boat enthusiasts from Ireland are participating in the 200m dragon boat race conducted by the UUKMA (Union of United Kingdom Malayalee Associations) at Manvers Lake, Rotherham, UK tomorrow. The team will participate in the open category along with 26 other teams. We wish them all the best of luck.UUKMA is a non profit organisation, working in National level. It’s aim is to promote fellowship of its member associations through cultural exchange involving artistic, literary and intergenerational needs of Keralite community living in the UK. Keralites are those from Kerala, a Southern State of India, speaking Malayalam as their mother tongue.
